Where is the Largest Library in Turkey?

Rami Library is a library located in Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, Turkey. Rami Barracks, like many military buildings in the rich history of the Ottoman Empire, was built reflecting the architectural features of the period. Usually, such barracks were built to meet the housing and training needs of the Ottoman army. These buildings usually consist of large courtyards, infirmaries, kitchens and rooms of military units.

Rami Library has a closed area of 51.000 m2 and an artificial lake of 1.000 m2. There are four library departments including adult, children, youth and specialty. There are interviews, seminars, exhibitions, a computer laboratory, a children's playground and a handicapped center in the Rami library.

The library has about 1 million books, magazines, newspapers and digital materials in its collection. Turkish English German French and other languages are available in the books. Rami Library is located in the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, in the area where Rami Barracks is located. You can use public transportation or a rental car to get to the library.

You can reach Rami Library by bus, metro and minibus.

• By bus: You can reach the library by using buses numbered 37A, 37E, 37Y, 38B. Our visitors who will provide transportation by bus need to get off at Talimhane Caddesi stop. There is a very short walking distance between the bus stop and our library. Dec.
• By metro: You can reach the library by using the M1A and M1B subways. Our visitors who will provide transportation by metro should get off at Rami Kışla Caddesi or Talimhane Caddesi stop.
• By minibus: You can reach the library by using minibus lines A-27 and A-74. Our visitors who will provide transportation by minibus should get off at Rami Kışla Caddesi or Talimhane Caddesi stop.
